life's a beach

Finally got to go for a beach walk. I live 5 minutes from the beach but it's been raining constantly the last few weeks (even during this walk). Can the weather stop impersonating Noah's ark so this can happen regularly please?

the sky has also been on point recently

travel update

Today we went to STA for the 3rd or 4th time. They've been really helpful for advice and information, suggesting activities and they have loads of tours and stuff available if you want a more organised trip.

Today we wanted to discuss visas, insurance and time scale and this was really useful as the people working there are well travelled so can speak from experience.

Visas are something we've struggled with as different websites advise different things, but we gave STA a photocopy of out passports and they're sorting a tourist visa for Australia for us. Aside from that we mainly seem to need passport photos and money in US dollars to buy the visas out there.

Insurance is another tricky one because we want to make sure all our activities are covered without paying too much. The standard package didn't include cycling which is something we're keen to do, and as I'm taking my camera I'm keen to find an insurance package that covers this. Our time scale means we may be rushed out there in order to get our flight to Australia. Depending on budget we may be able to extend our trip, and as we have multi flex passes we'll be able to change our flight dates free of charge which is very convenient.

It's all becoming very real and I got this bag from accessorize while we were in town. I intend to take a big like hiking rucksack and then this one for day activities, as it's a good size and a pretty durable activity. It will hopefully also hold a lot of hand luggage which will be very useful on our 15 hour journey out there.
Oops the picture is sideways- this was only £11

sales shopping

I was previously like a bargain queen, wearing entire outfits worth less than £10 and I was pretty proud of my achievements. Having a full time job changed that tho and my attitude to money is frequently 'this is only worth 6 hours work so therefore I should buy it'. Especially with double pay on Christmas and boxing day, so I bought a fair amount in the sales. Not quite achieving my minimalistic 'I don't need possessions' aims. Ah well.

First I did some online shopping bc I couldn't be bothered to get out of bed. I headed to asos and boohoo and got some classics

I've wanted long dungarees forever but my disproportionate body makes it hurt to buy full length stuff. I found these in the sale on boohoo for £20 and went for a 12 or 14 (can't remember which) so they're baggy on some parts but generally fit pretty well.

Next I got this dress (also from boohoo) for also out £8.50. This was the first time I'd gone for a body con dress ever (what a big day) so that was pretty exciting though probably a bad choice after a large meal at new years lol

Next I bought stuff on asos. I got a cute sparkly bra bra too from monki which I haven't photographed bc I thought it would be weird but that's also v cute.

I got this bikini top (sadly they didn't have the bottoms :((). I go travelling in like 2 months and so I thought it would be useful I have no boobs but like a large chest area which makes bikinis hard to buy so I was actually well happy with the fit of this bc I don't think it looks too weird despite having no tits lol.

Next I got this dress. I was a bit unsure about it but my mum liked it (lol) and also said 'make someone have a 60s party so you can wear it' lol what. It was £8.50 and is really loose and thin so I thought a potential travelling outfit maybs?

I ventured further afield and went on 3 shopping trips. Of the first two I only bought this well cute make up bag with brushes from boots, the rabbit design is so cute and I now own a million brushes which makes me happy (I'm a girl!!!) I'll do a blog post on make up soon

I also got some stuff in zara. I got this dress which I love and was £30 in the sale but is so pretty and has bat wings and is just the best ah.

I also got perfume and a stripey top but it has puffy sleeves :(((( so I am gonna return it

I also went to primark and bought a dungaree dress. It was £12 and I've wanted one for ages yes lads. They only had big sizes so I got a 16 but I quite like it  being oversized

I also got a long black cardigan for £7. It's very practical and warm and yeah just a good investment tbh

The hunt for the perfect stripey top and super cheap Dr martens continues, but in the mean time these shall keep me going

life update and aesthetically pleasing things

It's now just over 8 weeks until I go travelling which is very weird because it's just seemed like this thing waaaay in the future and now it's real and it just doesn't feel real idk. I have enough money now so this last 8 weeks is just to save extra and I may stay in Australia for a bit longer depending on various shiz so it would be useful for that.

December has been a pretty good month. Tbh I have lost all track of time and I was about to list events from December but it's a hit of a blur of moments involving work, alcohol, crying and eating. I definitely had mini Christmas with my friends, an annual thing where we meet up and make a roast and do secret santa and reminisce over our tragic lives. I love it. I also went up to Kent with Beth for a night to go to gaby's Christmas party and have a lot of my hair chopped off which was fun. The night before we were meant to go out but we all ended up sat I'm spoons having overdue conversations and it was very very nice. My life has changed a lot recently and I don't notice properly until I think about my relationships with different people. But hey; that's life.

I also worked Christmas eve, day, boxing day and new years day which was a pretty surreal experience. Tbf I argue with my family p much non stop so yeah was probs a good thing. I will eventually do a present haul as it was requested and I got some lovely things and I also bought a fuck ton of stuff in the sale so I will do a post on that. So my incompetence as a blogger haha.

Anyway I had the weekend of work and the rain FINALLY stopped this afternoon after approx noah's ark. Among other activities me and Beth went for a walk in the pretty places near our houses. Powered through the bizarre looks we good which I also give out when I see people publicly posing lol but in my defence people do ask me to make these haha (trying to justify myself and failing I expect)

Lipstick is Flat Out Fabulous by MAC and other stuff is mainly Charlotte Tilbury

 Top and skirt from zara
 Boots are from topshop

Coat from zara (common theme in beth's wardrobe haha)

Stripey top (aka my fav item of clothing I wear 99% of the time) from monki

 A very fit dungaree/sock/shoe combo

Shoes are Dr martens
Wearing beth's coat from topshop
And Lady Danger lipstick by MAC
Dungarees are from boohoo, I swear they look nice when they haven't fallen down to give me a massive crotch x cute x
